Tide Terms of Use
Apple’s license agreement applies; what you create with Tide is yours.
1. Apple’s license agreement
Tide is provided to you under Apple’s standard license agreement for App Store apps, the Licensed Application End User License Agreement published by Apple. It defines your license to use the app, its limits, and Apple’s role.
The terms below are in addition to it. They grant you extra rights over what you create and describe Tide Pro; they take nothing away from Apple’s agreement or from your consumer rights. They are granted by the publisher of Tide, Florent Thollas EI (“we,” “us”).
2. Your creations are yours
Everything you create with Tide belongs to you: your projects, your songs, your exports (WAV mix, separate tracks, MIDI, project files), your screen recordings, and your videos of the app. We claim no rights over them, and we never receive a copy: they stay on your iPhone until you share them (see our Privacy Policy). What comes from Tide (its sounds, demo songs, and artwork) remains ours; section 3 gives you the right to use it in your creations.
3. Public and commercial use of your creations
You may publish, distribute, sell, and otherwise use your Tide creations commercially, without asking our permission and without crediting us: on social networks and on video or music platforms, in your videos, your shows, your games, or your productions.
This permission covers what comes from Tide and ends up in your creations: the app’s sounds, the demo songs you reuse or modify, and the look of the app and its characters as they appear in your videos. We grant it over everything in Tide that belongs to us. Some built-in sounds are recordings released by their authors under the CC0 license (public-domain equivalent); those remain free for everyone.
Three simple reservations:
- No redistribution as such: you may not extract Tide’s sounds, images, demo songs, or code to redistribute or sell them as they are (for example, as a sound pack), outside of a creation of your own.
- No endorsement: you may not use the Tide name or logo to suggest that we approve, sponsor, or produced your creation. Saying that you made it with Tide is, of course, fine.
- What you add is your responsibility: anything you combine with your Tide creations (recordings, video, text, images) must respect other people’s rights.
4. Tide Pro with the App Store
Tide is free to download. Tide Pro unlocks additional features, described in the app and on the App Store. It can be bought in the app as an in-app purchase, sold and billed by Apple under the App Store terms (this section), or, in the United States and the European Union, on the web (section 5).
- The offers: a yearly subscription, a monthly subscription, or a one-time purchase that gives you Tide Pro forever, with no subscription. The price of each offer, in your currency, is the one the app and the App Store show you at the time of purchase; that price is the one that counts.
- Renewal: a subscription renews automatically for the same period, at the then-current price shown on the App Store (Apple notifies you if it changes), unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account is charged within 24 hours before the renewal.
- Introductory offer: we may offer an introductory offer on the subscription, with a reduced price for the first period. Each person can use it only once. When the offer period ends, the subscription renews at the standard price shown.
- One-time purchase: its price may change over time; what you have bought stays yours.
- Canceling: anytime, in your iPhone’s Settings (your name > Subscriptions). You keep Tide Pro until the end of the period you’ve already paid for. Deleting the app doesn’t cancel a subscription.
- Restoring: your purchases are tied to your Apple Account. On a new iPhone or after reinstalling, “Restore purchases” in the app brings them back.
- Refunds and withdrawal: payments are processed by Apple, and refund requests go to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, under its terms. Your right of withdrawal, where it applies, is exercised with Apple under the App Store terms.
5. Tide Pro bought on the web
In the United States and the European Union, the Tide Pro screen also offers Tide Pro on the web, on a Stripe payment page. These sales are made by Link, a Stripe service, as the merchant of record (“Sold through Link”): Link’s terms govern the sale, the payment, receipts, and refunds, and these terms govern Tide Pro itself. Apple doesn’t handle these purchases, so Apple’s refunds and your iPhone’s subscription settings don’t apply to them.
- The offers: those shown on the payment page, which may include a yearly subscription, a monthly subscription, or a one-time purchase that gives you Tide Pro forever, with no subscription. The price shown on the payment page, in your currency and with taxes as Link calculates and shows them, is the one that counts.
- Launch offer: we may offer a reduced price for the first year of the yearly subscription. It’s paid upfront for that year; after it, the subscription renews at the standard yearly price shown. There’s no free trial.
- Renewal: a subscription renews automatically for the same period, and Link charges your payment method at each renewal, until you cancel it. Link emails you a receipt for each payment.
- Canceling: anytime, in your Link account at app.link.com (you sign in with the email address you used to buy) or from the link in your Link receipt. In the app, Manage subscription on the Tide Pro screen opens the same page. You keep Tide Pro until the end of the period you’ve already paid for. Deleting the app doesn’t cancel a subscription. A one-time purchase has nothing to cancel.
- Refunds: ask Link’s support (support.link.com) or write to us at support@tidemusic.app. Link reviews requests under its terms and may refund a payment; we may also refund one ourselves. A full refund ends Tide Pro for that purchase, and a payment disputed with your bank suspends it while the dispute lasts.
- Right of withdrawal (European Union): if you’re a consumer in the European Union, Link’s terms give you a 14-day right of withdrawal from the date you receive access to Tide Pro. To use it, contact Link’s support and give “withdrawal period” as the reason for your refund request, or write to us at support@tidemusic.app within that period. The payment is then refunded, and Tide Pro ends for that purchase.
- Up to 5 iPhones: a web purchase works on up to 5 iPhones. An iPhone that hasn’t checked in for 60 days frees its place. If you need more, write to us.
- Restoring: there’s no account or password. On another iPhone, tap I bought on the web on the Tide Pro screen and type the email address you used to buy: a link that works once, for one hour, arrives by email. After you reinstall the app on the same iPhone, the purchase usually comes back by itself.
- Availability: buying on the web may not be offered on every iPhone. In the European Union, it needs iOS 26.2 or later, isn’t offered under 13, and goes through a parental gate from 13 to 17. We may stop offering it at any time; purchases already made stay valid.
6. The app and how it changes
Tide evolves: features may be added, changed, or removed between versions, and Tide Pro may grow. We do our best to keep your projects readable from one version to the next, and you can always export them as WAV or MIDI to use them elsewhere. Tide project files are sealed: they open in Tide, and a file that has been altered is rejected.
We keep improving Tide and fix its defects through updates on the App Store. You have the legal guarantee of conformity provided by the law of your country (in France, Articles L224-25-12 and following of the Consumer Code); refund requests go through Apple or, for purchases made on the web, through Link (sections 4 and 5). We can’t promise that Tide will remain compatible with every iPhone or every future version of iOS.
7. Your consumer rights
If you are a consumer, you keep all the rights given to you by the law of the country where you live; nothing in these terms reduces them. If a clause on this page conflicted with a mandatory protection that applies to you, that protection would prevail.
8. Changes to these terms
If these terms change, we’ll publish the new version on this page, with its date. A change that reduced your rights would not apply to what you have already created or already bought.
